Landlord Tax returns

Tax return advice if you rent out a property

  • Rents from a residential property
  • Holiday home letting
  • Non-resident landlord

If you're a landlord in the UK and rent out your property then you need to complete a tax return. This tax return needs to be submitted to HMRC by the 31st January after the end of the tax year.

HMRC have recently issued a press release to say that they are going to be launching an attack on those landlords who are evading tax by not declaring this income. Penalties can be as much as 100% of the tax found to be due.
